Matt Papa Leading Worship Easter Sunday at River Hills Church // @mattpapamusic

EASTER SUNDAY
You will not want to miss River Hills Church's Easter service on Sunday, April 4, 2010, as we welcome Matt Papa as our guest worship leader. Matt is a gifted worship leader and we are honored to have him lead us! Matt's music is powerful and is grounded in the Scripture. For more information on Matt Papa or to listen to his music, check him out at www.myspace.com/mattpapa

River Hills Church currently meets at the YMCA at 10:45 AM on Sunday mornings! The YMCA is located at 50 Brad Akins Dr. in Winder.

HOW WILL YOU USE THE INFLUENCE YOU HAVE IN THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE YOU LEAD?

As I think about leadership, leadership really is influence as John Maxwell has preached for as long as I can remember!

Everyone has some level of leadership/influence... whether you lead 1, 10, 100, 1000 or 10,000; whether it's your children, the people you lead at work, your friends, the volunteers you serve with, the church you pastor, the troops under your command, the small group you facilitate, or the people you are trying to reach... you have some level of influence! The question is... HOW WILL YOU USE THE INFLUENCE YOU HAVE IN THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE YOU LEAD? Will you use it for good and the advancement of God's Kingdom? Will you use it for the promotion of your self? Will you use it for manipulative purposes that expands your kingdom?

Your influence will either be leveraged for good or for evil. The choice for how your influence will be used is up to you! If your influence is self-serving...your relationships with others will be shallow and you will be proud, lonely and destroyed. If your influence is others-centered and Christocentric, your relationships with others will be deep, your generosity will be great, and your humility will be authentic.

Today's Progress on Remodeling Project

Here's a picture of the new addition from the inside! Thankfully, we
did not have to install the LVL beams to support the house. That saves
me quite a bit of cash!

Tomorrow, sheetrock and HVAC will be installed! Can't wait!

Email from Congressman John Linder regarding Health Care Update

If you are following the health care reform progress, read this email from Congressman John Linder:

Begin forwarded message:

From: "Congressman John Linder" <Linder_Alert@mail.house.gov>
Date: March 15, 2010 2:18:21 PM EDT
To: <sbbdawg@gmail.com>
Subject: Health Care Update

It is official:  the President and the Speaker have decided to ram a health care bill through the Congress this week.  The first step for this newly introduced 2,300 page bill is for it to be rushed through the Budget Committee this afternoon.  As you saw if you clicked on the link to the bill, the legislation is moving so fast that it hasn't even been assigned a bill number yet.

While you can read this new bill here, it won't be worth your time.  Why?  Because these 2,300 pages aren't even the 2,300 pages that the President and Speaker Pelosi want us to vote on.  That's right: the pages that they want us to vote on haven't even been completed yet.  The bill that the Budget Committee is working on is simply a placeholder because the Speaker is still working out new language.  The plan, we're told, is that Budget Committee will finish its work today to move the process along and then tomorrow--likely deep into the night--the Rules Committee will take up the bill.  The Rules Committee will completely erase the 2,300 pages approved by the Budget Committee and insert thousands of entirely new pages into the bill.  Don't worry, though: the Speaker has promised us at least 1 hour to read those several thousand new pages before the Rules Committee votes.  No, I'm not laughing either.

Obviously, this is not the way that any bill should be considered in Congress, but this is definitely not the way to handle something as important as health care reform and something so enormous that it accounts for almost 20% of our entire economy.

If you need to learn more, I will be holding a telephone town hall meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 16, at 7PM. By calling 1-800-857-6263 a few minutes before 7PM and giving the operator the passcode "Town Hall," you can join in this discussion.  I would certainly value your participation.

John

Email from Jared's Teacher "Awesome Job Jared!"

Subject: Awesome Job Jared!

I am so proud of you Jared!  Awesome job at Math Olympics yesterday!  Go Jared Go!!

See you Monday,
Mrs. Henderson

Daylight Savings Time starts tomorrow!

Don't forget to set your clocks ahead one hour tonight as Daylight
Savings Time starts in the morning.

Man... That must be awesome for those on the graveyard shift. They get
paid a full day's wage and lose an hour of work at the same time.
Think about it.

See you at church in the morning as we start "Warrior Poets - Biblical
Manhood". If you do not have a church home or you know someone looking
for a church, River Hills Church currently meets at the Winder YMCA at
10:45 AM on Sunday mornings. Check us out on the web at www.churchatriverhills.com

April Events in Winder: @chickfila opening and @mattpapamusic coming to River Hills Church

There are a couple of things happening this April that I am very excited about!

It is a known fact that on any trip I take, I make sure a Chick-fil-a stop is made at least twice: one going and one coming back! I am so excited that Winder is now on the map to open a Chick-fil-a in late April 2010. I am looking forward to having them not only in our community to serve that tasty Gospel bird, but also to have an impact in the lives of people in the communities of Winder and Bethlehem!

Another thing I am excited about is having a friend of mine be a guest worship leader with Brandt Farmer at River Hills Church on Easter Sunday. Matt Papa will be at River Hills Church on Sunday, April 4, 2010, to serve as a guest worship leader. I encourage you to check out his website... and download some music...you will love it!

Bad Boys Bad Boys...Whatchagonnadowhentheycomeforyou?

Tonight I am riding along with a Barrow County Deputy Sheriff. "Report at 11!"

One of our River Hills Church members suggested she was going to stay in tonight because she would hate to get pulled over by her own pastor!

Yea... that would be kind of awkward on Sunday morning wouldn't it?

Qoute from #Untamed - @alanhirsch & @debrahirsch

"To experience the radical grace of God in Jesus is to change -- to
miss grace is to miss the whole point! Love, and not detached
morality, is the fulfillment of the law (Rom. 13:8)."

Got a question for you... Is Grace Painful?

The Gospel of Jesus is a demonstration of God's grace to all people! Many people have a warped view of grace. They think they can keep on living life according to how they want to and God just keeps on forgiving them. While it is true that God's GRACE is greater than our SIN, I don't believe that gives us a license to continue living life according to our own rules. Therefore, I'd like to pose a question to you as you consider living life to the fullest!

Can the demonstration of or the reception of GRACE be painful? If so, why? If no, why not?
